    Description

    This auction is for an original 1930’s South Bend Split Bamboo Model 55-8 1/2 foot Fly Rod with sleeve and rod tube. The wood handle fly rod was designed for trout and bass and is in excellent vintage condition for being around 90 years old. The original wraps on the guides are in very good condition. The model 55 was one of South Bend Rods that did not come with an extra tip section to save on costs, back in the 1930’s. The South Bend rod sleeve is in good condition with some vintage wear, but is for a model 323-9 as shown in the photos. These vintage South Bend 55’s are getting harder to find!
