UNUSUAL OLD ANTIQUE ALL BRASS MOUNTED BURMESE DHA SWORD WITH PICTURE BLADE

Description

Burmese Dha Sword. This sword measures 29 1/4” in total length when measured in its scabbard. The handle is brass and covered in its entirety with floral decoration. Large ball shaped pommel, with good weight (you often find these dented) and also completely covered in floral decoration. The scabbard also of brass and also completely covered in floral decorations. The use of brass is a bit unusual in my experience but gives the piece a good overall heft. The blade, which is fairly sharp, has a central panel with a blackened background and then silver figures, floral carvings, Burmese writing on both sides. There is some surface scratching to the blade on both sides along the cutting edge. Circa 1930-40. Please email with any questions.
