Leopardskin jasper, also sometimes referred to as jaguar stone, is a beautiful stone of many colors with distinct spotted patterns.

Red Leopardskin Jasper takes a nice Polish, each rough stone ranges roughly from 1" to 1 1/2" dia. x 2-3 inches. Due to this larger size you typically will receive an average of 3-4 chunky,larger pieces in the 8 oz. bag.

Red Leopardskin Jasper is a stone that is mined in Chihuahua, Mexico and is not commonly offered. Leopardskin jasper, also sometimes referred to as jaguar stone, is a beautiful stone of many colors with distinct spotted patterns. Jasper, in fact, gets its name from the Greek word iaspi, which means "spotted stone." This is just one of a multitude of fascinating jaspers found all over the world. These rocks show a variety of colors throughout including black, creme,gray, orange, red and pink. Leopard Skin gets its name from the round "orbicular"and oblong eyes that you will find on the rocks. Also exhibited in the specimens are colored lines or veins that run randomly throughout. The colorization and patterns are somewhat similar to Mexico crazy lace agate that typically is found in same geographic area. See images above for random examples.This bag weighs 8 oz. and will contain an average of 3-4 larger sized pieces. Great refill for any beginner-novice tumblers.
