    Description

    Rare Buddhist Temple bell , decorated with unique patters and suspension hooks made in the shape of the mythical serpents, Nagas. Bell was used in the temple to pronounce time for prayers or ceremonies.

    Age: 18-19 th century.
    Size: Height 37 cm(14.5inch), diameter 20 cm (7.6inch) ,weight 4.2kg.(9.3lb)
    Part of the private Japanese collection, assembled in 1970-90
    Material: Bronze with  naturally developed , olive green,  patination.
    Good condition ,  some  abrasions as you see in the photos due of the age . Upper casting hole was sealed with metal , perhaps to create a better sound.
