Please understand that eBay has made a decision to no longer permit Confederate battle flag and related listings. We believe the image of the flag itself has become a contemporary symbol of divisiveness and racism. This is not a reflection or judgement on anyone selling the item and we respect that there are a wide variety of opinions on this issue. We thank you for your understanding and ask you to please not list these kinds of items.

    Major General Patrick R. Cleburne
    Stonewall of the West
Patrick Ronayne Cleburne was promoted in the Confederate army at an astounding rate – enlisting as a private in early 1861, and rising to the rank of Major General by December 1862.  Highly respected by both his soldiers and his enemies, he showed great physical and moral courage.  In fact, it took great courage to issue his controversial – but sincere – January 1864 proposal to arm slaves to fight for the Confederacy.
In 1863 Cleburne faced off against Union
    General G.H. Thomas
at Chickamauga. Cleburne’s and General John C. Breckinridge’s assaults forced Gen. Thomas to call repeatedly for reinforcements.  In November 1863 the Confederate army was forced to retreat after the battle of Chattanooga.  However, Cleburne had defeated every assault against his men eventually charging his attackers.  After the battle, Cleburne and his men were charged with covering the retreat.
“If this that is so dear to my heart is doomed to fail, I pray heaven may let me fall with it, while my face is toward the enemy and my arm battling for that which I know to be right.”
Not quite sure of the exact quote: "He who wins the war writes the history"
    The exact quote:
“Every man should endeavor to understand the meaning of subjugation before it is too late… It means the history of this heroic struggle will be written by the enemy; that our youth will be trained by Northern schoolteachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of the war; will be impressed by the influences of history and education to regard our gallant dead as traitors, and our maimed veterans as fit objects for derision...
It is said slavery is all we are fighting for, and if we give it up we give up all. Even if this were true, which we deny, slavery is not all that our enemies are fighting for. It is merely the pretense to establish sectional superiority and a more centralized form of government, and to deprive us of our rights and liberties.”
    – General Patrick R. Cleburne C.S.A. Jan 2, 1864

    Errata
    SOME people
seem a little confused as to my descriptions: (I want nobody to be disappointed in there purchase, I take great pride in what I do).
Let me make myself perfectly clear. What you see, is what you get, the image on eBay is the PRODUCT you will receive, and in all cases better. I have described in great detail each item and exactly what it is. If you have any requests or questions please do not hesitate to ask before you order, I will be happy to answer them.
    Know what you are buying.
It is what it is, a
    Museum Quality print
made and restored from a digital file using the old glass negative and in rare instances a print, it is
    NOT
an original print made in  the 1860's or 1870's and restored, (seems I had one buyer expecting an original restored print made in 1870 with actual signatures for .95, America is a wonderful place) it is a
    restored
archival digital reproduction, with the signatures artfully applied, not some cheap print. If you want cheap, shoddy prints, they are everywhere, not here.  Again, if have any questions please ask. The illustration of the General's flag is for educational purposes only and is not part of this order.

    Photos in frames
A word about economy shipping. It is USPS Parcel Post or whatever the USPS calls it now. The framed photograph is bubble warped, placed in a bumper tray, shipped in a larger carton surrounded by Styrofoam and bubble wrap.  It is shipped insured with delivery confirmation.  Priority Mail is only a few days faster and in some cases it has turned out to be the same amount of time.  The USPS charges  17.55, the carton cost 4.00 the packing material is another 3.50 then I spend at least an hour packing it and take to the post office. Lets not forget eBay and Paypal who collect 13% (.51) on that charge. I charge .95 for shipping, this item. It actually costs me .56 plus gas and W&T on my car.  Maybe I should add in the eBay and PayPal vig 13% (for those of you in Rio Linda,
    t
he word vig is short for vigorish, which is bookie slang for a fee that's charged on each bet placed. (It can also mean interest paid on a loan.) It's origin seems to be the Yiddish word vyigrysh, meaning 'profit or winnings)
. If you like you can pick it up. I will make lunch.
