    Description

This is a Wonderful Old Bronze Khmer Slaked Lime Container with Residue from Cambodia. These containers are used in Cambodia to store the lime added when chewing betel nuts. Betel and spices are added together with the lime to produce a mildly intoxicating combination which is chewed by the local people. A residue of slaked lime remains inside the container. This container is made of high quality heavy bronze metal using the lost wax method. This particular shape and design is unique to Cambodia.
