    Description

    This is a Vintage Betel Nut Chopper from Indonesia. The chopper is a combination of cast and wrought iron. It is mounted on a decorative stand. With a Balinese Bird style design. This would be used as a tool to prepare Betel Nut to be Chewed. Used by older people with failing teeth that can no longer chew betel nut  The hard seed of the Areca palm. It measures 3" x 9" with the stand adding 2 inches to the height. Not sure the age, but could be as old as mid 1800's to 1940's.
