    Description

This is a wonderful Wooden Slatted Tray from the Ifugao people of the Luzon Cordillera Range of the Philippines. In the Philippines the condition and climate is ripe for the growth and production of coffee. The Philippines is one of the few countries that produce the four main viable coffee varieties; Arabica, Liberica (Barako), Excelsa and Robusta, and 90 percent of coffee produced in the country is Robusta. This tray is used in the process of drying coffee. The beans are put on the tray and placed in the sun to dry. This particular type of drying tray is unusual and hard to find. The Ifugao tribal people are so well known for their basketry, but their skills are used in producing utilitarian objects as well. This is a very unusual Ifugao coffee drying tray and would be a wonderful addition to your collection or home.
