Hanoman Betel Nu Crushert Handle, Southern Java

Description

An exquisite carving of Hanoman the Monkey God character in the Ramayana. Even though the Javanese owner claimed the handle was a Kris handle I believe that it was more likely originally crafted to be a handle on a betel nut crusher. Collected in Southe Java in 1992 for my collection.
This fine carving is accompanied by a wood display stand.
