Celebrating 17 years on eBay with 100% positive feedback.
Please understand that eBay has made a decision to no longer permit Confederate battle flag and related listings. We believe the image of the flag itself has become a contemporary symbol of divisiveness and racism. This is not a reflection or judgement on anyone selling the item and we respect that there are a wide variety of opinions on this issue. We thank you for your understanding and ask you to please not list these kinds of items.
VERY SAD • IGNORANCE IS A TERRIBLE THING

ONE  OF  THE  GREATEST  GENERAL'S  OF  THE  CIVIL WAR
“that Devil, Forrest . . . the most remarkable man our Civil War produced on either side.”
    — Union General William Tecumseh Sherman
    Image of Lt. General Forrest
    (July 13, 1821 – October 29, 1877)
    , unknown photographer.
Forrest's Cavalry Corps was part of the Army of Tennessee commanded by General Braxton Brag during much of the Civil War. General Forrest strongly disliked General Bragg as did most of his command. Especially General Breckinridge.  Soon after entering the Confederate service June 14, 1861, as a private in White's mounted rifles, he obtained permission to raise a regiment of cavalry, the equipment for which he purchased at his own expense in Louisville, KY. With little formal education and no military training or social contacts he rose through the ranks to attaining the rank of Lt. General. Although Forrest lacked formal military education, he had a gift for strategy and tactics. He created and established new doctrines for mobile forces, earning the nickname "Wizard of the Saddle".
Lieutenant General Forrest was one of only three men in the Confederate Army to reach this level of rank without any formal military training.
The other two were General Wade Hampton
and General Richard Taylor (son of President
    Zachary
    Taylor).
“Forrest thunders in every storm that shakes the earth from Donelson to Chickamauga, from Fort Pillow to Selma, and a flash of his sword may seen when the lightning cuts the darkness with a quivering line of fire.”
“The career of Nathan Bedford Forrest will stand a chapter apart in the annuals of our country, a story as unique as his personality was picturesque. In the obscurity of his origins, the success of his struggle against poverty, and the splendor of his achievements in war, it will be difficult to match in all the pages of history”.
John Allan Wyeth, Life of General Nathan Bedford Forrest
In this photo General Forrest appears to be looking into you soul.

*General Forrest's flag had the center star missing?  Why?
    Knights Templar
    • On Friday the 13
    th
of  October, 1307, King PHILIP OF FRANCE ordered the arrest of the Knights Templar.
    • He just may have thought (13)  was an unlucky number.
    • General Forrest was born on July 13th
    • The best one was he wanted his enemies to know who they fighting and put the fear of FORREST into them,
with the center star removed, so that when his enemies saw that flag they would know that Forrest was on the field and that the end for them was soon near.  It was excellent psychological warfare, and worked.   He used the 12-star battleflag to strike fear into his opponent.  as noted by Sgt A. H. D. Perkings, Color-bearer, Forrest's cavalry.
    • General Forrest never arrived on the field without his escort. His escort was well over a 100 hand picked soldiers, and sometimes double that depending on the battle.  These soldiers were hand picked and among the best in his command.

    Errata:
    SOME people
seem a little confused as to my descriptions: (I want nobody to be disappointed in there purchase, I take great pride in what I do).
Let me make myself perfectly clear. What you see, is what you get, the image on eBay is the PRODUCT you will receive, and in all cases better. I have described in great detail each item and exactly what it is. If you have any requests or questions please do not hesitate to ask before you order, I will be happy to answer them.
    Know what you are buying.
It is what it is, a
    Museum Quality print
made and restored from a digital file using the original old glass negative and in rare instances from the actual engraving, as in this case. It is
    NOT
an original print made in the 1860's or 1870's and restored, (seems I had one buyer expecting an original print with actual signatures for .95, America is a wonderful place) it is a
    restored
archival digital reproduction, with the General's signature carefully applied, not some cheap print.
Again, if you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask.
The Confederate Flag is on display for educational and display purposes and does not come with this lot. Again, if you have any questions please ask.
    Thank you for looking.
