General John Bell Hood participated in nearly a dozen battles during the Civil War. He was at: Peninsula Campaign, Seven Days Battles-Battle of Gaines's Mill, Second Battle of Bull Run, Battle of Antietam, Battle of Fredericksburg, Battle of Gettysburg, Battle of Chickamauga, Atlanta Campaign, Franklin-Nashville Campaign (Battle of Franklin and Battle of Nashville).
He was severely wounded at Gettysburg, rendering his left arm useless for the rest of his life. He was again wounded at Chickamauga resulting in the amputation of his right leg.
