    Description

    Civil War Binder on Sergeant Samuel Cole Wright
    29th Massachusetts Company E, Volunteer Infantry
    Awarded Medal of Honor for Actions at Battle of Antietam
    Reproduction Pictures and Narratives
    Item Description
    Here is a nice piece of Civil War history here for your buying consideration. Would make a great gift for a special occasion, or keep it for yourself.
    The binder has some very interesting history and pictures of one of the Medal of Honor awardees during the Civil War.  Received for his actions at the Battle of Antietam.  This binder is a compilation of information on Sergeant Samuel Cole Wright.  He was with the 29 Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry.   Interesting story about being shot thru the eye at the Battle of the Crater and left for dead.
    This item is from the estate of Tom & Mary Legore of Finksburg, MD.  There were local Civil War Historians and Collectors.  They also collaborated with former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich and another author with local history for one of Newt's Civil War books.
    We will be posting a number of other Civil War items that we acquired from this couple over the next few weeks, so keep looking to our online store here as they will be offered for sale separately.  Some of the items are a large case of bullets and other artifacts from the Pickett's Charge area, original Currier & Ives lithographs, signed prints and books, Pie Smelling and Buying Story of a Confederate prisoner, artifacts from the Soldiers Home, Sycamore sight tree in Gettysburg, etc.
    The documents and pictures are in a black three ring binder.  Also a CD-ROM of the photographs printed out in the binder.
    The Civil War related binder is 11.5" tall, by 10" across, by 1" wide.  Don’t be shy to make an offer, we are always open to reasonable suggestions.
    The pictures provided both complement and supplement the listing description, so please look at them very closely as well.  With older vintage items, there is no way one can capture all the little imperfections in words, so the two media are meant to be the full description.
    Here are some of the listing numbers for items that came from this historian/collector couple's estate;
