    Daan box. The hinged back lid can be opened to disclose a compartment in which the ingredients for making a Paan, betel leaf, betel seeds and other spices, were stored.
    Paan leaves and the ingredients are stored in compartmentalized boxes to make it convenient to prepare the paan. To show hospitality to visiting guests it is customary to keep the betel boxes fully stored when offering a paan to them.
