    Description

Beautiful, rare, Vietnamese Le Dynasty vase, with colorful
    floral overglaze enamel design,15-16 century.
This is a rare, southwest, Asian Vietnamese vase, from the time of the Ming Dynasty, China.
The shape of the vase and the design are influenced by
Chinese items of the same period, as these two
    cultures were very closely linked.
[Vietnam was an integral part of China over 1000 years,
    until the 10th.century.]
The underglaze is white, with a slight  sheen. The four overglaze enamels in red, green, and yellow are
    more matt.
The neck has a floral band above the two bands of the
    neck, with flower petals design.
Under the neck, there is a band of scalloped lotus panels
with wave and flower design inside.
The main body is covered with beautiful large floral motifs,
    possibly peony flowers.
There is a small loss at the base, and the crackles are highlighted with age patina.
There are 6 more scalloped petals just before the base. The spout and handle are adorned with a dynamic red wavy design. The base is colored in a lite chocolate brown hue, as is typical of the period.
