Antique Malay Tin Flower Petal Hairpin / Hairspike from Penang, Malaysia

This is a lovely Antique Malay Tin Hairpin / Hairspike from Penang, Malaysia.  The hairpin has two prongs and a colored
gemstone of unknown quality & origin.
The hairpin was purchased in Penang in the late 1970's by my father & myself when he owned an Antique Shop in Batu Ferringhi.  I estimate the hairpin dates from before the turn of the century.  He made his purchases primarily from 2-3 Antique Dealers that specialized in Peranakan / Nyonya Baba / Malay items who actively sourced their inventory from the local population of the island.  Please review pictures thoroughly in regards to the condition of this item.
Hairpin / Hairspike Dimensions:  2 3/4 of an inch
wide and 4 inches in length .   Weight: .5 ounces.
