    Description

This is a wonderfully detailed Brass handled Antique Iron Knife / Machete from Ayutthuya / Ayuthiya Thailand.  The knife was originally purchased in Bangkok by my father who was an active antique dealer in Penang Malaysia in the early 1970's.  He sourced his personal Thai collection primarily from two well known & highly regarded dealers in Bangkok's Bang Rak District at the time - Peng Seng and Anna's Antiques.  I believe this particular item was originally purchased from Peng Seng.  I estimate the knife dates to well before the turn of the century.
Please review pictures closely in regards to the overall condition of this item.   When the blade is pulled from the handle there is a narrow gap - would need to insert glue / adhesive to close the gap.  The handle is still fully attached to the blade though it is loose.
Knife Dimensions: 1 3/4 inches wide, 13 1/2 inches long with depth of 1 1/2 of an inch.  Blade Width: 1 3/4 inch.  Weight: 9.3 ounces (264 grams)
