Description
These two hand carved wooden slats are from an "opium" bed, or wedding bed that I purchased in Java, Indonesia in the late 1980's. I particularly think this pair is special because the color of paint against the red patina of the boarders is a beautiful contrast. The motif on each slat is a deer with its head turning backwards to eat foliage. You could hang them horizontally so that the deer match, or hang them vertically.
