Antique Indonesian Malay Belt.
Copper, Brass, Silver. Stunning Malay Work, Rare Find for Today. In very good condition for today. None other found to have the matching belt.
Malay silver work is ornamented with floral and geometric patterns. There are no depictions of animals or religious figures on Malay work, since these figures are considered improper to Muslims. Each piece of Malay work is unique and original in design with little imitation done by the artist of the piece. Belt links have separated, and some may be missing. Waist is very small with this set, 27”. Links can be worked back together and if a larger belt is needed I would add the extension to the back links so it’s hidden. This will ensure most of the belt is seen in the front. Custom metal chain would work nicely.
Eye catching for any wardrobe. Pictures show each and every angle for you, no damage. Purchased while traveling 1990-2010 and stored since. Belt parts were found stored separately, this is a revised listing.
