Description
We bought this for (over 0 today) in the 1970s from Sam Mahl, a dealer in Asian antiques, as a beetle nut knife, but it looks like none I have seen since, but it could be used to crack a nut. Maybe, you can help me. We bought it because, at the time, my wife and I dealt in netsuke and it was similar to an 18th century Rice Seal netsuke of the head of a ghost and clearly had a lot of age. Possibly Indonesian.Ghost hilt carved in bone? Fossilized?

You may have met us, Leonard Davenport or Gail, of LSDArt on the web or at shows in NYC, Hamptons, Chicago, Florida, Washington DC, Baltimore and other places. I had a gallery in East Hampton and Southold, exhibited at Hampton Antiques as LSDArt. In the 1970s, my first wife and I specialized in Japanese antiquities as L&C Davenport. Now I'm selling mostly below for what I paid years, even decades ago. I'm listing stuff from the galleries, my web store, shows, but can't get it all up! Library, paintings, ceramics, glass, Asian, and other stuff.
