Antique 19th Century Malay Executioner's Kris Panjang Sword #290
This Kris Panjang from the Malay Peninsula has a long wooden scabbard of fine-grained honey colored wood.  The top of the hilt is a separate piece of wood.  There is a crack in the top hilt piece or saddle that was repaired, there is also cracks running down the sides of the scabbard, all are shown in pictures.  The hilt is from carved wood, there are a couple nicks and a crack at the collar, also shown in pictures,
The Kris sits slightly 1/4" above the saddle when inserted.  F
ittings are tight with no movement
.  The blade shows expected pitting, discoloration and some rust.  Please see pictures.  Overall length: 24.75” Blade length: 21 1/4”.

This knife is from an extensive collection of world edged weapons assembled in the 1970's & 80's by a Northern Florida antique dealer.
