Antique 1800s Dutch Colonial Indonesian Wooden Trunk on Wheels Wedding Chest
For your consideration is a late Victorian wooden trunk on wheels
Possibly a wedding chest or just an everyday storage box
All hand made with deeply carved floral decoration and geometrical patterns
The carving is colored with green and yellowish natural pigments
The top of the chest is on wrought
iron hinges
Inside, there is a small shelf to the left side, meant perhaps to store smaller keepsakes
Dove tail joints, hand forged iron handles
Four well functioning wooden wheels attached with wooden rods
The wheels was meant to help if it needs to be moved quickly in case of fire
Made in Colonial Indonesia with noticeable Dutch influences
Circa late 19th century
