    Description

This is a wonderful Old Cambodian Wood Abacus. The abacus is a simple device for performing mathematical calculations, such as subtraction, division and multiplication and it can also be used to obtain square roots and cubic roots. The abacus has beads strung on wires or thin wood rods. There is a divider that separates the left and right strings of beads. Abacuses are designed to allow for hexadecimal computation. The abacus is still in use today by shopkeepers in Asia. Asian schools still teach how an abacus is used. Blind children are also taught to use the abacus. This would be a wonderful item to add to your collection or home.
