1940s VINT. HOHNER SQUEEZEBOX ACCORDION 12 X 11 X 6" STEEL REEDS, WORKS! POLKA.
Here is an awesome vintage 1940s era honor, made in germany, polka instrument, more likely A squeeze Box than an accordion, due to the size. The neat vintage ornate owner Germany squeeze Box accordion has two sets of keyboards, one on the front and front of the Chrome grill, and the other a series of buttons on the top. The accordion bellows is very clean, with a great ornate colorful pattern that displays when the instrument is opened up halves are pulled apart to take in air. Notice that some of the buttons are lower than others on the keyboard but I have tested each one and they all work. They all create a very unique sound when pushed. I am not an accordion expert, but I have run it through its paces, and each button changes the sound, and I hear no rattling when I invert the instrument, meaning that all the reads and attachments are secure. The owner name is on a beautiful placard at the top of the mother of pearl celluloid simulated overlay. Please note that there are a few small cracks in the celluloid mother of pearl white yellow and pearlescent finish, most notably to the side of the top layer of buttons on the front of the instrument, see photos. They are hard to see, but there is a hairline crack in the celluloid strip next to the button. Also, please note that the leather straps are all gone, likely due to age and the cowhide or leather simply deteriorated and came away. please review photos. The instrument does reflect some use, it does also reflect some playware, and it is possible it will need servicing and tuning before use, I do not play these instruments, so I cannot opine on how accurate or in tune the instrument is.
